Foreign Interactions

For many years, DOE has collaborated with foreign nationals in a large variety of scientific and technical disciplines. DOE values the richness that these foreign nationals’ expertise and technical capabilities bring to the DOE mission. The goal of the Unclassified Foreign Visits and Assignments (FV&A) Program is to ensure balance between the value foreign nationals bring and DOE’s need to protect national security interests.

FI training is designed for personnel who carry out roles and responsibilities in the area of Unclassified FV&A. Both distance learning and classroom-based courses are available covering various aspects of FV&A. Specific topics of instruction include the Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS) training, and FV&A host training.
