The DOE Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA), Office of Enforcement will host a training session for new DOE Federal and Contractor Enforcement Coordinators and the 2024 DOE Safety and Security Enforcement Workshop, May 6 – 8, 2024, at the NNSS North Las Vegas Facility, North Las Vegas, Nevada. The training session and Workshop will be held in conjunction with the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) Regulatory and Enforcement Technical Subgroup, which will hold a contractor-only meeting on enforcement-related topics on May 9 at the same location.

New DOE Federal and Contractor Enforcement Coordinator Training

This training session will be held Monday, May 6, 2024 for new Safety and Security Enforcement Coordinators to provide information and guidance on the DOE regulatory enforcement program.

Topics for discussion during this session, which will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 p.m. (PST), include:

  • Introduction to the Office of Enforcement and the Office of Enterprise Assessments
  • DOE's Safety and Security Regulatory Framework and Roles and Responsibilities of Enforcement Coordinators
  • Enforcement Investigation Process
  • Q&A | Open Discussion

Prior to this session, we encourage all attendees to take the DOE Safety and Security Enforcement Program Overview Training, HQ-150DE, which is available on Learning Nucleus.

2024 DOE Safety and Security Enforcement Workshop

This two-day workshop will be held Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8, 2024 to:

Provide training and up-to-date information to DOE, NNSA and contractor line managers, safety and security professionals, and enforcement coordinators regarding roles, responsibilities, authorities, policies, and expectations for executing the Department’s nuclear safety, worker safety and health, and classified information security regulatory compliance assurance and enforcement programs;

Convey operational results and outcomes from the most recently completed enforcement investigations and noncompliance evaluations;

Facilitate interactive practical exercises to demonstrate DOE expectations for screening, reporting and correcting safety and security noncompliances; and

Provide information about recent changes in Departmental policies, regulations, and directives affecting enforcement program implementation. ​
